Every Woman Has Her Story.. Here's Mine..

My entire life I have had a very strong maternal nature. When I was 2, my brother was born. My mom tells me that I was constantly helping or TRYING to help my parents out with him. I had a big hand in him knowing how to read by the time he started Kindergarten, and I also tried to apply "lotion" on him by putting Lime Away in his eyes.. Miraculously, he is fine. This behavior didn't stop with my brother, though. If you look at all of my report cards for 1st grade you will see comments from my teachers that I tended to "mother" the students. What can I say? It's who I am..
Now knowing this about me, it shouldn't surprise you that I am a nanny. Not just any kind of nanny, mind you. I am a HOMESCHOOLING nanny. Yep, you read that right. My "pupils" are 7 year old twin boys whom I've been with for almost 5 years. This is the best job I could ever ask for. The boys and their parents are amazing. So amazing that I need a whole other blog JUST for work so I am going to put myself back on track here.
So where does my baby hope dream come into play? I have to start with the love of my life; my husband. We met when we were 18, got married when we were 24, and here we are now, at 29. We have a fur baby cat named Ellie. We started TTC (trying to conceive) in January 2012 right after my yearly "fun" visit with my gynecologist (who ROCKS by the way)  when she said she expected me to have no problems conceiving. I was over the MOON with excitement.
After an entire year passed and I hadn't conceived I started to feel defeated. My doctor wasn't horribly concerned, though. Another year passed and I started to really become concerned. My boss recommended I start charting my basal temperature every morning and I soon saw something startling in those charts. I wasn't ovulating regularly and my cycles were everywhere from 24 days-50 days long. Yikes... I soon began taking an herb called Vitex and, after a few months of daily use, I started ovulating every month and my cycles were much more consistant, lasting around 35 days.
I was so pleased but decided to stop taking the Vitex about a year and a half ago. Why? Because I developed Shingles 2x. Now, I have no proof that this is what caused them but through research I decided to stop taking it. I soon after had my yearly "fun" visit again and this time I informed my gyno that I'm no longer ovulating. :( She told me that she wanted me to try this supplement called Pregnitude. It is a folic acid-myo inositol blend. I've been on it for almost 6 months now and, while it has helped me ovulate two times, I'm still more irregular than regular.
So, this brings us to the present. If you are still reading, THANK YOU! I know that was a lot to read. My goal for this blog is to share with all of you my journey to a hopeful baby in my arms. I long for the day I am called "mommy." Anxiously awaiting the chance to feel a baby kick in my belly...and  yearning for the chance to make my husband the amazing father that I know he will be some day.
As you can tell, I'm not taking my fertility issues lying down! I'm temping, watching what I eat (less carbs and sugar), exercising daily, taking Pregnitude and prenatals, and temping daily. So, if you are interested in seeing how or if I beat infertility stay tuned! My journey is FAR from over and my fight is even FURTHER from being over.
